Matthews Buses Donates Bus to Gates Chili CSD

Matthews Buses, Inc. donated a bus to the Gates Chili CSD that the school district converted into a food truck that will help feed children this summer. The “Spartan Eats” food bus was modeled after various other Mobile Meals programs in larger districts throughout the country.

The bus, which launched last month, has been on the road, feeding breakfast and lunch to almost 1,000 children every weekday. The bus has also made appearances at various community events and apartments in Gates.

While the summer program is coming to an end the school district hopes to continue the use of the bus through the school year.
