The March meeting of the Central New York Chapter of the NYS Head Mechanics Association was held on Wednesday March 22, 2017 at the Matthews Buses facility in Liverpool, NY. Over two dozen technicians from school districts throughout the area were in attendance for a session that included product updates from Matthews’ award-winning trainer, Roger Harrod.
Roger’s presentation included new information on improvements to the diesel exhaust after treatment system, oil and coolant specification changes and the all-new S.T.A.R.S. seating system for school buses that carry wheelchairs.
Roger also gave the attendees a look at the newest Thomas C2 features and options, including the CNG powered C2 and the Bus Wise system. Preliminary information on the new Detroit DD5 diesel engine, anticipated to be available in a very short time, was also shared with these service pros.
Matthews Buses hosts this meeting and training session annually. This year’s gathering was postponed by a week as a result of the snowstorm on March 14th.
