Matthews Buses was founded in 1967 by Robert and Justine Matthews. Our family-owned company has been an industry leader in providing safe transportation for generations of families. We have four locations throughout New York State: Ballston Spa, Avon, Poughkeepsie, and Syracuse. Matthews Buses has grown through our commitment to quality, service, and value and by partnering with Thomas Built Buses, a leading manufacturer of safe and reliable school buses.
In the early years of our business, Bob Matthews personally flew customers to the Thomas Built manufacturing plant in North Carolina to tour the plant and often pick up their new buses. He wanted clients to see first-hand Thomas’s commitment to quality control and exceptional engineering and manufacturing practices. Bob Matthews established relationships that have lasted decades.
Bob’s commitment to customer education and confident purchasing decisions remain the hallmark of Matthews Buses. Led by Bob and Justine’s sons, Guy and Brad Matthews, the entire Matthews team is focused on working closely with our customers. Our four facilities are state-of-the-art, providing sales and service and accommodating all issues related to bus ownership and maintenance.
